I graduated in Philosophy from the University of Leeds in 1997 and on returning to the north east joined a national life assurance office as a trainee financial planner, qualifying in 1998, and became District Manager in their Cambridge office in 2003. I took the step to set up my own independent financial planning firm in 2005 that later became Greenarch Wealth Management in 2022.
Over the years I’ve grown a diverse client base working with individuals, business owners, and professional trustees and went on to achieve Chartered status in 2016. I love the challenge of working on complex planning that pushes the boundaries of my knowledge.
Outside of work I like to watch my kids play football and rugby. I play guitar and have a very eclectic taste in music. I love eating out and am a keen social golfer!
I joined the financial services sector in 1999 with Lloyds Private Banking and have extensive experience in private banking, investment management and financial planning.
I partnered with Ian in 2022 to form Greenarch Wealth Management, founded on our common beliefs and values of integrity, professionalism and putting our clients’ needs first. I am a Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and believe in providing high levels of service whilst taking the complex and making it simple.
Outside of work, I enjoy rugby, golf, going to the gym and long walks with my wife Linda and dog Ruby. An occasional trip to the pub and eating out with my kids are also high up a weekend wish list.
Early in my career I held administrative jobs until I started work at NatWest in 1992 as a P.A. which sparked my interest in financial services.
I worked for 14 years at Brewin Dolphin, a national investment management firm, working both in the front office and in Regulation and Risk dealing with financial crime and travelling to UK branches to carry out internal compliance audits.
I gained Chartered CISI Member status in 2011 to support my professional development and after leaving Brewin Dolphin in 2016 I joined the firm to work as Admin and Compliance Manager.
Compliance is forever changing which keeps me on my toes and I strive to ensure Greenarch maintain the highest of standards. This is reflected in our annual audit by our compliance auditor where we’re consistently complimented as having ‘outstanding processes and procedures.’
I’m married with two children and when not at work I enjoy keeping fit by going to the gym and having long beach walks with the dog.
Having worked with a well-known high-street bank for 12 years an opportunity arose in 2014 to work at St. James’s Place, a national financial planning firm, in one of their north-east practices as an administrator/paraplanner. In 2017 I started working towards my Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, which I completed in early 2019.
Once qualified, I wanted to progress to giving financial advice and in 2022 I joined Greenarch as a technical paraplanner with the potential to gain the necessary experience to give advice to clients. Since 2023 I have been working in a hybrid role, meeting new and existing clients whilst also providing support to the other advisers in Greenarch as a technical paraplanner.
Outside of work I enjoy walking my dogs, spending time with my family and cooking. I also love to travel, and I am attempting to learn the language of each of the countries I travel to.
I graduated in Psychology with Business from the University of Lancaster in 1999 and shortly afterwards I undertook a graduate training scheme in financial services. I then worked as a financial planner in both an accountancy and legal practice which gave me great insight into how professional advisers can work together to achieve great outcomes for their clients. After 14 years working for a small independent firm specialising in financial advice for women, I joined Greenarch in August 2023.
I have over 20 years’ experience advising a range of corporate, SME and individual clients and also have a great deal of experience in ethical investing.
Outside of work, I enjoy running, pilates, skiing and I’m keen to start playing golf. I live in the Tyne Valley and I’m actively involved with the Tyne Valley rugby and cricket clubs where my children play.
I studied Economics and Politics at the University of Sheffield and after graduating knew that I wanted to put my knowledge into practice and enter the financial services sector. In 2022, I joined a large north east firm as a Trainee Adviser and then joined Greenarch in September 2023.
I am CII Diploma Qualified and studying towards becoming Chartered which will support my progression towards becoming more client facing.
I’m a keen rugby and cricket spectator and try and spend my weekends playing golf but not to a particularly high standard! An avid Mastermind watcher – my go-to specialist subject would be Top Gear 2002-2015.
